How We Impact the Community
Napa CART works year-round to provide disaster preparedness resources for pet owners and to keep the community updated during weather events and fire incidents. We train volunteers to evacuate and shelter large and small animals, and we work with city and county first responders to ensure the best possible outcomes for animals in disasters.
Napa CART remains on call 24/7 and can be dispatched at a moment’s notice to assist with the evacuation and sheltering of animals in need. Established in 2016, the team has responded to several large-scale fires regionally and continues to work with local and state leaders to elevate options for animals in disasters.
Testimonial
Since 2017, Napa CART has responded to five large- scale fires caring for thousands of animals and training over 200 volunteers. They are a crucial county partner serving to educate, train, and respond when animals need us the most. Volunteering has enhanced my disaster preparedness and my animal care skills.
What a $10 donation buys
$10 supports the care of one large animal or two small animals in the shelter for a day.
What a $50 donation buys
A $50.00 donation helps to ensure field operation volunteers receive All Hazards and Fireline safety training.
Other Ways to Help
Legacy Gifts. Unfortunately, Napa is likely to continue to experience disasters in the future. Funding to sustain and train volunteers is susceptible to economic turns. Creating an endowment to support Napa CART in perpetuity will help to ensure that animals remain an intrinsic consideration in disaster planning and response. Consider Napa CART in your legacy planning.
Come join our team! We have positions for all experience levels and options to support Napa CART from home. Joining our team will augment your animal care skills and elevate your disaster preparedness. You can make a difference for the animals in your community.
