How We Impact the Community

We supplement the generous canned food donations made to the CANV Food Bank with nutritious, delicious, fresh fruits and vegetables grown on our Mission Farm, all provided free of cost to those in need.

Having access to fresh fruit and vegetables provides families with the dignity to cook meals of their choice, and the agency to curate healthier options. Canned food alone does not provide this, and we fill this critical gap.

Last crop season the Mission Farm delivered to the Food Bank 20,000 lbs. of organic produce. If sold commercially, it would fetch about $56,600! Our volunteer parishioner-farmers feel proud to make such a significant contribution to the nutritional quality of the diets our low-income neighbors can afford.

Testimonial

FRESH, FREE, ORGANIC produce for the Food Bank! Literally TONS of it! I donate my time at St. John’s Lutheran Mission Farm so that each year the Farm can donate OVER TEN TONS of healthy fruit and vegetables to Napa families in need. Come out and join the volunteers!
