Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area

$0 raised from 0 donations

How We Impact the Community

DSCBA is the only regularly staffed organization specifically dedicated to serving the Down syndrome community in the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area, including Napa County.

People with Down syndrome have an extra 21st chromosome, which can cause a range of physical and intellectual disabilities. The few available resources needed are difficult to find.

We are actively expanding our programming into Napa County. Each year, we offer free or low-cost access to supportive therapies, classes, one-on-one consultation, connection groups, and more for approximately 600–800 people of all ages with Down syndrome, as well as more than 2,000 family caregivers, medical providers, and education professionals. This work makes a long-term difference in the life success of people with Down syndrome.

Testimonial

I think it really did C. and our family so good to be around those that are like him and to be welcomed in as if we were family and have known each other for a long time! Watching him take his first two steps while there was amazing.
