How We Impact the Community

Imagine not being able to read words. Picture a young adult staring at homework, desperate for help. Imagine being a child unable to attend a summer program due to the costs. Or an older adult, alone, trying to see pictures of loved ones but unable to navigate a tablet.

Every day, thanks to the generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers, we help the Napa Library meet such needs for our community, offering programs like the Summer Reading Adventure and the Memory Lab.

Our impact extends well beyond the library’s walls. We donate books to schools, laundromats, senior housing, hospitals, family centers—even the local jail. Most importantly, we distribute thousands of free books to children each year, helping them discover the joy of reading and the pride that comes with having a book of their own.

By promoting literacy and learning, we open doors to opportunity. Your support keeps our library a vibrant hub of education, culture, and connection, where everyone, from young readers to older adults, feels a sense of belonging.

Testimonial

Thanks to the Friends of the Napa Library, our students—many visiting the library for the first time—received books to keep and treasure. Their excitement was overwhelming. For some, it was their very first book. This thoughtful gift fosters a love of reading and makes a lasting impact on young lives.
